The End is Near…

This is another reminder that this blog will be deleted in the very near future. Please continue to cook your way through Middle-earth at my website:

Hope to see you there, which is kind of a strange thing to say, but there it is. As Yoda would say, “Follow me, you will.”

Change is inevitable…

…and sometimes beneficial. I decided to grow up and actually start a real website. I will continue to blog over there, and pretty much all the vital contents of this blog have been exported/imported (whatever my daughter did; she’s a web wizard) over to the new place.

This was mainly triggered by the fact that my cookbook is being released TOMORROW!

Cooking for Halflings & Monsters PRE-SALE

The past two months have been a whirlwind of editing, typesetting, approving, and worrying. I hope that you will join me at my new website, where you can sign up to get a newsletter/blog delivery. The Middle-earth culinary tale will continue over there with some yummy dishes for Beorn. I’ll leave this blog up for awhile—see you over at, instead of!

My New Etsy Shop

You might recall from a previous post that I mentioned I would probably start up an Etsy shop. I finally got around to posting a few items there. I have a few hand-knitted/crocheted scarves and a whole bunch of tooth fairy pillows crafted from leftover fabrics from my daughter’s June wedding. These would make great gifts for any five- or six-year-olds you might happen to know. I also just bought some fresh fabric to make other ones eventually. So, if you like to cruise around on Etsy and need another shop to favorite, I’d appreciate a look and a share with your friends. The holidays are just around the corner! Or maybe you want to buy some of my granola, ready-made. Here’s a link to the shop:

I’ve written a rather detailed history about the shop, which you are welcome to read there. Since our wedding photographer’s name is attached to the photo, here’s a link to her website: Kate the Photographer. (OMG, there are photos of me on her homepage! Kate is awesome!) Here’s a photo of the wedding dress that started all of this crazy Etsy stuff:

Craving some comfort food?

Perhaps you’re thinking you’ve stumbled upon some sort of odd Dungeons & Dragons website, but no—this will be much better.  Food, drink, and original recipes will be the hottest entrees here; the Albuquerque scene and cultural topics will be the yummy carbs on the side.  This is the place to find information on the cookbook Cooking for Halflings & Monsters: 111 Comfy, Cozy Recipes for Fantasy-Loving Souls.

I hope you’ll enjoy your visit, leave comments if you like, and tell your friends to check it out!
